WiTEC Austria - a gateway for women in science, engineering and technology
WiTEC (Women in Science, Engineering and Technology) is a European network consisting of universities, companies, individuals and other private organisations who want to support women in science and technology in Europe. The Austrian host of WiTEC is Technikon, a consulting company from Villach. Since November 2003 Technikon creates a platform, which allows women to be supported in the fields of IST and electronics. The WiTEC Association was founded at 21st April 2004.
  • Information and networks:
    Increase the number of girls and women studying SET subjects and to help them progress to related careers. Promote regional, national and international awareness and interest in this field.
  • Provide suitable chances:
    Develop women's technical and entrepreneurial skills through training initiatives and projects
  • International contacts:
    Create information exchanges and networking opportunities for women in SET
  • Research:
    Promote and support research in areas related to women in SET
  • Gender conflicts:
    Support initiatives and gender mainstreaming policy
  • Information and networks:
    Promote regional, national and international awareness and interest in this field.
WiTEC Europe
The WiTEC network, which consists of 12 european partners will support us to create a gateway for Austrian and other european women who want to experience the world of science, engineering and technologies inside and outside Austria.
WiTEC has the following aims at the European level
