WiTEC projects in Austria
WiTEC Austria is the leader of the Interreg IIIA project “Fachkräfte für die Wirtschaft”, which is carried out together with the Federation of Austrian Industry (Industriellenvereinigung Kärnten), the Microelectronic Cluster and the ACS-Automotive Cluster of Slovenia. The aims of this project are increasing the number of women in technical positions and improving their working conditions, developing and implementing strategies to increase the number of female employees in selected companies and raising the awareness of the public regarding this topic.

On 26th April
2007 the fourth “Girls’ Day” took place in Villach. Together with the town of Villach 300 girls (age 13-14) could visit and gain an insight into technology orientated companies of the region.
Read on ...The finalisation of the project took place in March 2007. WiTEC Austria took care of the administrative and financial issues in this connection. This included translation of the booklet into German, preparation for the printing of the booklet, compiling the reports for the project and billing. Additionally correspondence with the EU concerning the money transfers (last payment) as well as carrying them out have been ongoing tasks. Furthermore, the meetings in Barcelona (Tackling Stereotypes Final Meeting and Final Conference) were prepared, where the final results of the networks were presented. Read on ...
